Shower & wet-room tiling.
Carefully considered.

A shower area needs more than a beautiful surface. The tile layout must work with the fittings, the floor and the waterproofing system beneath it, with the whole installation planned as one.

A THOUGHTFUL APPROACH

A well-planned shower starts below the surface.

Original Tile can discuss tiling for shower enclosures, walk-in showers and wet rooms. From a quiet, coordinated finish to a mosaic feature wall, the aim is a practical space with thoughtful detailing.

Let’s consider the whole room.

  • Shower walls and tiled enclosure details
  • Walk-in shower and wet-room tile layouts
  • Mosaic features, niches and contrasting panels
  • Coordination of tile work with the wider installation
BEFORE THE FIRST TILE

A little planning.
A better result.

Share the drainage, shower and waterproofing plans before tiling is scheduled. Tiles and grout are not a substitute for a suitable waterproofing system. Responsibility for preparation, waterproofing, plumbing and the finished tiling should be agreed clearly at the outset.

Dave is based in Keighley and has over 25 years of experience in tiling and multi-skilled trade work across Yorkshire. Send your postcode and project details to start the conversation.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

Shower & wet-room tiling. Your questions.

Every room is different. If your question is more specific, ask Dave.

Does tiling make a shower waterproof?

Tiles and grout alone should not be treated as the waterproofing system. The underlying construction and waterproofing specification need to be suitable for the installation and agreed before tiling starts.

Can a small shower have a mosaic feature?

Yes. A narrow feature strip or a single wall can add interest without overwhelming the room. The sheet layout, corners and junctions should be considered alongside the main tile.

Can you help plan a walk-in shower tile layout?

Discuss the shower dimensions, screen position, drainage and chosen tile with Dave. These details affect where joints and cuts fall, and how the tiled surfaces meet.

Who handles plumbing and other trades?

Dave has a multi-skilled trade background, but the precise scope should be agreed for each project. Explain what other work is planned so responsibilities and the order of work can be confirmed before booking.
